ya know what, think I might just go there next week. I havent been there in ages and I remember they're burgers being awesome.
Gaaaah... I'm jealous.
The closest thing I've found in LA is the Cat & Fiddle. It's pretty awesome, but it still ain't the Tap.
If you come back to visit, after a trip to the Village Tap I think you would enjoy Kumas Corner. Restaurant and bar that plays all metal and names their burgers after the bands... the menu is great:

HOLY SHIT does that place look awesome! I'd have a hard time deciding what to get, just on the names. Though I notice they're missing a FEAR FACTORY burger.
My personal favorite is the Pig Destroyer. Because pigs should be destroyed.
